KMR Youth Records proudly recognizes Sahil Bashir for his extraordinary achievements in sports and his outstanding contribution to youth development in Jammu & Kashmir.
An exceptional multi-sport athlete from Bandipora, Sahil has represented India and Jammu & Kashmir across numerous national and international competitions. As an International Track & Field Athlete, he has proudly carried the tricolour while inspiring young athletes through his dedication, discipline, and determination.
His impressive sporting journey includes becoming a National Gold Medalist in Track & Field, a National Gold and Silver Medalist in Snowshoe, a National Level Floorball Player, Silver Medalist in Floorball, and a Three-Time National Kabaddi Player. He has also dominated district athletics by winning 10 Gold Medals in the 100m and 200m events and secured four District Gold Medals in Cycling.
Sahil further earned a Silver Medal at the 21st UT Athletics Championship, an Inter-University Road Race Gold Medal (2023), and was honored by Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha during the 79th Cycle Rally from Bandipora to Srinagar (2025).
Creating history, Sahil became the first athlete from Bandipora to complete a solo run from Sumbal to Bandipora in just 3 hours and 50 minutes, raising awareness while inspiring thousands through his remarkable endurance. For this historic achievement, he received an Award of Appreciation from the District Administration Bandipora.
He was also honored with an Outstanding Performance in Sports Award by GOC 31 Sub Area, Major General PBS Lamba for his exceptional contribution to sports.
Beyond his personal achievements, Sahil serves as the Chairman of Shadipora Youth Club, where he actively promotes youth participation in sports and organizes community events. He successfully organized the Ramadan Volleyball Cup, Shadipora, regarded as one of the finest tournaments in Jammu & Kashmir.
His leadership also saw him lead Team India as one of the three athletes from Jammu & Kashmir selected to participate in the ISF Stair Climbing World Championship, further bringing pride to the nation.
