Raashid Gulzar Khan

Born on November 2, 2000, in Sonerwani, Bandipora, Jammu & Kashmir, Raashid Gulzar Khan has emerged as one of the region's most versatile athletes, influential coaches, and dedicated sports administrators. Widely recognized as Raashid Ahmad Khan, his journey reflects a rare combination of sporting excellence, leadership, and social commitment.

As an athlete, Raashid has earned recognition as an 8-time national medalist, showcasing exceptional talent across multiple disciplines including Kurash, Wushu, Jujitsu, Arm Boxing, Kickboxing, Fencing, Silambam, and Ball Badminton. His achievements across diverse sports highlight his dedication, adaptability, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

After establishing himself as a successful competitor, Raashid transitioned into coaching and sports administration with a mission to create opportunities for the next generation. He currently serves as the Chairman and Head Coach of Star Sports Academy, where he provides professional training, mentorship, and character-building opportunities for aspiring athletes, particularly youth from tribal and remote areas of North Kashmir.

His leadership extends further through his role as General Secretary of the J&K Arm Boxing Sports Association, where he actively contributes to the development and promotion of the sport across the region. As an organizer, he has successfully spearheaded major sporting events, including the District Bandipora Kurash Championship 2025, the 2nd District Bandipora Kurash Championship, and the Village Level Wind Ball Cricket Tournament 2026. He also coached and led athletes participating in the National Arm Boxing Federation Cup 2026 held in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Beyond competitive sports, Raashid is deeply committed to social development and youth empowerment. Through initiatives linked to the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, he organizes sports activities and awareness campaigns aimed at steering young people away from drug abuse and toward healthy, productive lifestyles. He has also conducted free self-defense training programs, including a notable three-day self-defense camp in Malangam, helping young people build confidence, discipline, and personal safety skills.

Combining sports leadership with modern technology, Raashid manages the professional branding and administration of sports organizations under his leadership. From designing official branding materials to utilizing digital and AI-driven tools for efficient management, he represents a new generation of sports leaders embracing innovation while serving their communities.
